Moore Edgar Lyster LLP is seeking an associate lawyer with at least five years of experience in labour law, civil litigation, human rights, administrative law or professional regulatory law to join our team.
Moore Edgar Lyster LLP is a leading union-side labour, human rights and administrative law boutique located in Vancouver, on the traditional and unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
We represent trade unions, individuals and select institutional clients in all types of litigation, ranging from proceedings before labour boards, arbitrators, tribunals and regulators, to complex judicial reviews, civil claims, appeals and interventions. We take a team-oriented approach to serving our clients and pride ourselves on the quality of our work and our commitment to social justice.
We are looking for a motivated and team-oriented lawyer with at least five years of experience at the bar. Litigation experience, experience in one of the firm’s practice areas, and a commitment to social justice issues are strongly preferred. Candidates must be eligible for membership in the Law Society of BC.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including base salary, opportunity to earn a performance bonus, defined benefit pension, extended health benefits, cell phone stipend, and generous continuing legal education budget. Base salary is commensurate with experience but is expected to range between $140,000 and $190,000.
We provide associates with an attainable annual target along with opportunities to contribute to the broader community and access to justice through the delivery of pro bono, low bono and intervenor work, as well as through the delivery of legal education to various community organizations.
