Raunaq Arora

Raunaq (he/him/his) practices in all areas of labour, employment, human rights, regulatory, and administrative law.
Raunaq advises trade unions on a broad range of matters, including grievances involving discipline and discharge, contract interpretation, and human rights matters. He also represents non-union employees in wrongful dismissal and human rights cases.
Before joining Moore Edgar Lyster LLP as an associate, Raunaq completed his articles at a large national firm where he assisted counsel on complex arbitration, regulatory, and administrative law matters.
While in law school, Raunaq gained valuable advocacy experience though national moot court competitions, where he honed his skills in written and oral argument and received recognition for his performance. Raunaq was also an Editor for the Alberta Law Review and volunteered at a legal clinic for low-income individuals, which required him to regularly attend before the Provincial Court of Alberta. In addition to his extracurricular achievements, Raunaq graduated from law school with academic distinction.
Raunaq was born in India and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was quite young. He is fluent in both Hindi and Punjabi and is passionate about promoting minority rights, especially within the workplace. He is committed to helping unions and workers (and the families who rely on them) by providing strategic and creative solutions so that they can achieve the best results.
Raunaq serves as a Board Member with the South Asian Legal Clinic of British Columbia and as the Law & Policy Liaison with the Human Rights Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association – BC Branch.
In his free time, Raunaq can be found experimenting with various recipes in the kitchen, watching F1 races, and playing basketball with friends.
