Jerika Caduhada

Articled Law Student

Jerika (she/her) is a summer student at Moore Edgar Lyster LLP and is completing her JD at the University of Victoria. She is passionate about workers’ rights, especially those of migrant workers, and is interested in the intersections of law and storytelling.

Prior to law school, Jerika participated in the B.C. Legislative Internship where she authored an article on authenticity as a strategy of youth democratic mobilization, which was later published in the Canadian Parliamentary Review. She was also involved in student politics as a devoted advocate for racial justice, leading her to run a civic engagement program for marginalized youth in Vancouver.

In law school, Jerika volunteered for Pro Bono Students Canada and holds a leadership role on the Racialized Law Students Collective. She had the pleasure of competing in the Julius Alexander Isaac Moot, where she received the highest oral advocacy score amongst her team. Jerika currently serves as an Executive Coordinator at the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL) BC.  She has also worked as a Legal Researcher for the Freedom of Information and Privacy Association of BC. In this role, she conducted cross-jurisdictional analysis on freedom of information legislation and researched migrant precarity as a result of barriers to information. Within her migrant and diasporic community, Jerika is a local organizer and assists with rallies for migrant rights and events devoted to providing worker support.

Outside of work, Jerika is an avid reader, writer, and lover of dance and dessert.
